Wave Company (CEO Na-Yeon Cho) announced that its sports taping support brand, Wavewear, will enter nationwide pharmacy chains by partnering with Pyeonhan-ga.
Wavewear boasts over 30 different items and holds more than 50 intellectual property rights (IP), and it is a Korean product that has received medical CE certification overseas.
According to Wavewear, the patented technology BWAS™ is applied by incorporating kinesiology taping into the fabric, which alleviates user pain and reduces muscle fatigue by up to 35%, thereby improving athletic performance.
While kinesiology tape is currently sold in pharmacies, it requires learning how to use it, which can be cumbersome. In contrast, Wavewear is designed to be worn easily—simply put it on—and the taping targets large muscle groups accurately, making it easy for anyone to experience the benefits of the taping.
Furthermore, the previous supports sold in pharmacies were often bulky, uncomfortable, and prone to stretching. Wavewear has solved these problems by offering a comfortable level of compression combined with the taping effect, making it possible to wear it discreetly under thick clothing during the fall and winter to protect the joints.
Pyeonhan-ga operates an experience-based "shop-in-shop" concept directly managed by professional pharmacists, with experience zones currently running in major pharmacies in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Busan.
A representative from Pyeonhan-ga stated, "The partnership, which began with the first store at Yongin Market Pharmacy on March 1, 2024, has expanded to the 500th store at Pohang Health Plus Pharmacy on September 10."
